William Phippen, Sc’15, is not reaching for the stars. He is aiming for the Moon and Mars.
The Mechanical Engineering student had always dreamed of working in the space industry and he is taking a step towards that goal, thanks to the 91︣߹ۿ’s Space Engineering Team (QSET).

After William saw a sign on campus in his second year advertising a meeting for QSET, he said it “felt like I’d found my home.”
Campus clubs such as QSET – many of which are supported by 91︣߹ۿ’s alumni – allow students to find their passion, excel, and innovate outside the classroom. Not only are students like William having fun, they are gaining valuable experience to help make the successful transition after graduation.
“These clubs help turn today’s students into tomorrow’s leaders,” says 91︣߹ۿ’s University Alumni Association president George Jackson, Artsci’85. “When we were students, we benefitted from the generosity of the alumni. Let’s do our part to bolster an important aspect of 91︣߹ۿ’s education.”
