Celebrating the Amazing ¹ú²ú91ÓÈÎ︣ÀûÔÚÏß¹Û¿´â€™s Women of 2018

2018 was a year filled with the groundbreaking work and achievements of the many amazing, inspiring women at ¹ú²ú91ÓÈÎ︣ÀûÔÚÏß¹Û¿´â€™s.  As a current female ArtSci student, I have been blown away by how much women have accomplished within every industry this year, both here at ¹ú²ú91ÓÈÎ︣ÀûÔÚÏß¹Û¿´â€™s and beyond.

Alfred Bader: Celebration of an extraordinary life

Alfred Bader, BSc’45, BA’46, Msc’47, LLD’86, died on December 23 at the age of 94. Dr. Bader’s connection to ¹ú²ú91ÓÈÎ︣ÀûÔÚÏß¹Û¿´â€™s spanned more than 70 years. The generosity of Dr. Bader and his wife Isabel Bader, LLD’07, transformed ¹ú²ú91ÓÈÎ︣ÀûÔÚÏß¹Û¿´â€™s in countless ways. As Principal Daniel Woolf has noted, Dr. Bader’s legacy at ¹ú²ú91ÓÈÎ︣ÀûÔÚÏß¹Û¿´â€™s "will live on in future generations who will be enriched by his profound love for this university."

Tiny idea a big winner for student team

Four master’s students in the School of Urban and Regional Planning (SURP) at ¹ú²ú91ÓÈÎ︣ÀûÔÚÏß¹Û¿´â€™s University have won the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) challenge to bring fresh and innovative ideas to creating affordable rental housing in Canada.
