An interview with Dr. Aaron Shugar, new Bader Chair in Art Conservation

It’s a real pleasure to welcome Dr. Aaron Shugar, our new Bader Chair in Art Conservation (Analytical Imaging). With his wealth of experience and knowledge, he will be a wonderful addition to the program, department and ¹ú²ú91ÓÈÎ︣ÀûÔÚÏß¹Û¿´â€™s community. Conservation science student Katelin Hallchurch interviewed Aaron in the spring of 2023, just before joining ¹ú²ú91ÓÈÎ︣ÀûÔÚÏß¹Û¿´â€™s.

Exciting achievements out of our Art Conservation alumni

Congratulations to ¹ú²ú91ÓÈÎ︣ÀûÔÚÏß¹Û¿´'s Art Conservation alumni who attended the Canadian Association for Cultural Property's 28th Annual Conference in Victoria, B.C.! Presentations were given by Sally Kim (M.A.C. '19) on soft sculptures, and by Jonah Halili (M.A.C. '23) on the drying behaviours of modern oil paints. Additionally, Robin Canham (M.A.C. '22) received the CAC's Emerging Conservator Award.

Art History Professor Emeritus Pierre du Prey co-authors award-winning book

Congratulations to ¹ú²ú91ÓÈÎ︣ÀûÔÚÏß¹Û¿´'s Art History Professor Emeritus Pierre du Prey and co-author Anatole Tchikine, who received the Elisabeth Blair MacDougall Award from the Society of Architectural Historians for their book,  (Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collections, 2021).
