Steven Heighton, Author of The Nightingale Won't Let You Sleep

Steven Heighton’s most recent books are The Nightingale Won’t Let You Sleep, a novel,  and The Waking Comes Late, which won the 2016 Governor General’s Award for Poetry. His novel Afterlands has appeared in six countries, was a New York Times Book Review editors’ choice, and is now in pre-production for film. His short fiction and poetry have received four gold National Magazine Awards and have appeared in London Review of Books, Best English Stories, Poetry, Best American Poetry, Tin House, TLR, Best American Mystery Stories, Zoetrope, New England Review, and several editions of Best Canadian Stories and Best Canadian Poetry.  Heighton is also an occasional fiction reviewer for the New York Times Book Review. He lives in Kingston, where his writing was first published in the mid 1980s in ¹ú²ú91ÓÈÎ︣ÀûÔÚÏß¹Û¿´â€™s University student newspapers and magazines.His other works include: The Shadow Boxer, Patient Frame, The Dead Are More Visible, and Stalin's Carnival.
